👋 Good Morning!

I’m not the biggest Halloween guy in the world but I can still appreciate the season. What I can’t stand for is the way some stores start to put out Christmas stuff in early October.

Fall is a glorious stretch in Colorado, even if it only feels like it lasts about three weeks weather wise. Don’t look so far ahead that you’re not appreciating what’s right in front of you. And don’t you dare play holiday music, the Monster Mash aside, until after Thanksgiving.

4 thoughts ahead of the Nuggets season

(Imagn)

The Nuggets have begun training camp out in San Diego and the DNVR crew is there to keep us up to date with all of the latest happenings.

Yesterday we all saw the clip of Nikola Jokić saying that he intends to be a Nugget for life. It wasn’t surprising considering his personality but hearing the best player in the world say that on record still feels good. How lucky are we as a community that he continues to embrace Denver on such a personal level?

Aside from the obvious of getting to appreciate another year with Jokić, I’m actually really excited to see the new pieces in action. Here’s a couple of thoughts as we inch closer to the regular season.

  • Cam Johnson is going to love life with Jokić. His shooting efficiency is going to be on a whole other level. And I think his defensive ceiling is far higher than MPJ’s. It’s truly a perfect fit.

  • Jonas Valanciunas has the potential to be a game-changer for the second unit. It allows the team to keep some continuity stylistically with different groups on the floor. But most importantly his addition will hopefully give Jokić a chance to get a breather for once.

  • Bruce Brown’s return is phenomenal for content. Getting a veteran player back that embraces the system wholeheartedly is such an underrated win for any basketball team though. Winning teams need glue guys and he’s the ultimate one.

  • I think Aaron Gordon might be my favorite trade acquisition for any of the local teams in the 21st century. If he wins another ring here, he’ll make the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame some day.

Don’t miss out on the fun!

It’s good to be a Nuggets fan right now.

The Broncos get to deal with the most annoying play in football on Sunday. How is the tush push a legal maneuver?
