👋 Good Morning!
What a great time it is to be a sports fan right now. The Broncos are the best they have been in a decade and the Avs are off to a great start to the season as well. Now we get to get to throw a really fun Nuggets team into the mix.
Life is good.

Another ring would solidify Nikola Jokić as a top 10 player in NBA history

(Imagn)
The Nuggets are just about universally considered one of the top contenders in the NBA this season. The Oklahoma City Thunder are obviously a popular preseason pick to win it all, as are Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks, but the team with the second-highest odds to win the title is Denver.
Part of the reason why the collective consensus is that the Nuggets are for real this year is the work done to bolster the depth of the roster. The bench is far deeper and the guys they’ve brought in will be much better system fits.
Another element is Jamal Murray, who based on the preseason looks like he’s coming into this campaign in the best shape of his life.
The biggest reason people believe in Denver’s potential this year is the same as always though. Nikola Jokić is the best player in the world and he’s proven time and time again that he will always give the Nuggets a chance.
We’ve never seen anything like Jokić in the NBA and I honestly don’t know if we ever will again. I could list his accolades which are already absurd. If he wins another ring, though, it will allow Nuggets fans to start saying some pretty bold things. I personally already think he’s a top 10 player of all-time. But multiple titles, in this era of the NBA, would make it tough for even his biggest cynics to argue that.
We shouldn’t care what the talking heads and digital trolls say to spark engagement. Anybody who truly loves basketball knows how special Jokić is. But I’d be lying if I said that I don’t want to be able to shove his legacy down their throats. I’ll never forgive the people like Kendrick Perkins and Nick Wright, who went on live TV every day and just spewed the dumbest narratives in an attempt to cost Jokić an MVP.
It’s our duty as a city / state to defend the honor and greatness of Nikola Jokić. It’s a task that I don’t take lightly.

Jonathon Cooper has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week after his monster performance in the win over the New York Jets.
With Nik Bonitto taking the honor after the Eagles game, this is the first time in franchise history that a pair of Broncos defenders have been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks.
The scary thing for opposing offenses is this defense has a shot to be even better with some of the guys they’re starting to get back.

Colorado State saw four different running backs find the end zone in a blowout win over Fresno State last week. Leaning on those guys might just be the key to turning the year around for Jay Norvell’s squad.
