Happy Nuggets season to those who observe.

This is the best roster Denver has had since winning the NBA title. It might even be better on paper.

Christian Braun has agreed to a five-year contract extension with the Denver Nuggets. The deal is worth $125 million and it keeps the up-and-coming guard in the picture for the foreseeable future.

Coming off of his best season in the NBA, the deal makes sense for both sides. I know the number sounds jarring but it’s really not a bad contract with the way salary cap continues to rise. You would be pressed to find a better fit as an organization. And with him being able to make a massive leap production wise while also improving his efficiency last year, the future looks bright for the former Kansas star.

Brendan Vogt had a great breakdown of why this move was really an example of both sides operating in good faith. Denver could have matched any offered he received down the line had they opted to let him test restricted free agency. But instead of potentially souring the relationship through intense negotiations that get drug out, both sides were able to find an agreeable number and get a deal done.

I love this deal for the Nuggets. Braun plays extremely well off of Nikola Jokic and brings an attitude / energy to the floor that is infectious.

The vibes are immaculate going into this season.
