👋 Good Morning!

The Broncos host the Cardinals this week in another classic preseason matchup with the NFC West.

I don’t put much stock into the preseason, especially in 2025. But with the starters expected to play a substantial portion of the first half, I do hope to see the ones mount a couple of nice drives offensively.

The NFL charges season ticket holders full price for these exhibitions, which is pretty ridiculous. Hopefully the starters playing a little bit longer makes the matchup more interesting than most preseason games are these days.

If you’re going to be at Mile High this Saturday night, check out the DNVR tailgate.

Hunter Goodman goes yard, Rockies play spoilers against the Cardinals again

(Imagn)

Did you see the Rockies took two of three from the Cardinals for the second time this season? I don’t know what Nolan Arenado did to upset the baseball gods but St. Louis hasn’t won a playoff series since he came over there. And after losing another three-game series to the Rox, the Cardinals very well may miss the playoffs entirely for the third straight year.

This all probably ends with Arenado signing with the Dodgers. And that won’t be much fun for anyone. At the moment, though, it’s a little bit funny that such a proud baseball franchise might have blown their best shot to gain ground in the wild card race because they lost multiple series to the Rockies after the All-Star Break.

Oh, and also, Hunter Goodman is hitting bombs. He might hit 30 home runs this summer. He’s currently at 24 for the year after hitting a pair in this past series. 15 have been on the road too, so it’s not like his pop disappears away from Coors Field.

The Rox haven’t had someone hit 30 dingers since 2019. It would be cool to see the young catcher achieve the feat. Check out his go-ahead shot in the ninth inning of yesterday’s win at the bottom of the newsletter.

DeKalon Taylor moved from wide receiver to running back for the 2025 season. It’s a move that is working well for him so far.

Every defense needs a spark plug. The Broncos have their guy in Jonathon Cooper.
