👋 Good Morning!
We’re just a couple of weeks out from the first Avalanche game of the regular season, and in a month we’ll be talking about what happened in an opening night matchup between Steph Curry and the Warriors and Nikola Jokić and the Nuggets.
Who has got it better than us? Nobody. (Shoutout to the Dan Patrick show)

It’s been a tough month for the local QB’s

The Buffs have gone full circle at quarterback and landed on Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter once again. He was the starter before being benched for Ryan Staub, but has since won his job back in a rollercoaster of a non-conference slate.
The Rams have hit the emergency button and benched a three-year starter after a rough start to the season from Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi. CSU will now start Jackson Brousseau, a redshirt sophomore who led two scoring drives in the fourth quarter against UTSA.
Even the Broncos have had some sluggish QB play at times this fall from Bo Nix. I’m not concerned with him in the long run. As I wrote the other day, though, we need to see more from Nix to be a real threat in a tough conference and even tougher division.
It’s the hardest position in sports. And the Elway’s and Manning’s of the world are few and far in between. But it is objectively funny to think about how much one position can determine the mood of entire fanbases. So much of our lives center around the production, or the lack thereof, from one guy on the field. And the ironic thing is that this game is the ultimate team sport. There’s so many factors that go into whether a quarterback is being set up for success by what’s going on around him.
This isn’t some grand revelation, I know. But it’s good to keep perspective, especially early in the process. It’s a long season.
