👋 Good Morning!
I’ve never been a proponent of building a dome in Denver. There’s always just been something romantic to me about snow games. Seeing the way the weather impacted both teams on Sunday, though, I might be coming around to the idea.
PS when are NFL coaches going to realize that 3 points is actually a big deal in a tight game?

It’s time to regroup and reload

Losing in the playoffs is never an easy pill to swallow. Losing a game that was there for the taking is even tougher. But as bummed as I feel about the outcome of the AFC Championship, the future looks incredibly bright for the Denver Broncos.
With a second-year quarterback, no true stars at the skill positions, plus $32 million in dead cap for Russell Wilson, this team put together one hell of a run. The key now is to avoid complacency and continue to add weapons to Bo Nix’s arsenal.
The Broncos have some fun pieces and I’m still intrigued by what Marvin Mims and Troy Franklin can develop into. Courtland Sutton is not a true No. 1 receiver at this stage of his career though. And it’s been over a decade since the team had a real threat at tight end. With all due respect to Evan Engram, how many plays would it take for you to notice if he wasn’t out there? My guess is a few. The guy was invisible this season.
All of this is to say that the championship window is far from closed. In fact, they might be one or two moves from being drastically better. I’m already excited to start looking at all of the possibilities.
It was a really fun season. Thanks for letting me ramble about it with you every morning.

Avalanche Takeover
We’re taking over Ball Arena for the upcoming Avs-Red Wings game on Feb. 02.
Come hang with the DNVR Avalanche crew and your fellow Diehards as we remind the team from Detroit that we do in fact still hate their guts.

The Avs went into Toronto’s barn on Sunday and lit the place up in a 4-1 road victory. Brock Nelson led the way with a hat-trick.

The Nuggets were supposed to play in Memphis on Sunday afternoon but the game was postponed due to the weather. Funny enough that might actually be big for Nikola Jokić being eligible for the MVP this season. Every game counts.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but it really feels like the game flipped when the Broncos turned the ball over on downs rather than going up two scores in the second quarter.
