👋 Good Morning!
There’s about nothing worse than staying up for a late-night matchup and seeing your team drop a winnable game to a rival.
The Nuggets have been extremely impressive without Nikola Jokić but Jamal Murray needed some help last night and nobody delivered. I can’t stand losing to the Lakers.

Nathan MacKinnon is having a moment

(Imagn)
Nobody is currently within 10 points of the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference. The Dallas Stars are the closest team to the Avs right now and despite having played three more games as of this morning (Jan. 21), even they trail by a full 11 points in the standings.
Looking ahead at the schedule, the upcoming stretch is fairly favorable before we hit the Olympic break in February. If the Avs can pick up even half of the possible 16 points over the next eight games, outside of having a catastrophic meltdown down the stretch, Colorado would pretty much have a stranglehold on the Central Division coming out of the Olympics. It’s just going to be really tough for any overcome a double-digit deficit in the standings over about a 25-game stretch.
Roughly 60 percent through the regular season, Nathan MacKinnon is on pace to score more goals than he did in his MVP campaign. He’s already at 38 for the year and with 14 more he can top the 51 that he scored in 2023-24. He’s been on another level this season and it’s been really fun to follow.
MacKinnon has a chance to have one of the greatest runs in hockey history. Imagine winning a gold medal at the Olympics en route to becoming a two-time Hart winner and Stanley Cup champion. That’s really not a crazy hypothetical for him at the moment.
‘Nate Dogg’ gets overshadowed at times by guys like Connor McDavid. But there’s been nobody bigger for their respective team this season than MacKinnon. He’s playing the best hockey of his career.

Some of you would probably just like to forget about last night. But the guys always do a great job of breaking everything down — both the good and the bad.
DNVR Nuggets Postgame

The Avalanche are always active at the trade deadline. Is there a world where a former fan favorite might make a return to the Burgundy & Blue?

Just about anybody who has ever spent time around Jarrett Stidham has come out and vocalized their support of him. It’s not just his friends blowing smoke though. The guy can sling it.
