👋 Good Morning!

I hope everyone has had a happy holiday season to this point. Even if you don’t enjoy the holidays, though, it’s been a pretty fun stretch of action since you last heard from me.

The Broncos won in Arrowhead for the first time in a decade and secured the division crown in the process. The Avs hit the 60-point mark before Christmas, then preceded to win a shootout thriller in Vegas this past Saturday night. And even if the road trip started with a loss in Orlando, I’m still buzzing over that Nuggets win over the Timberwolves on Xmas night.

We’ll have some fun looking back at the best moments of 2025. But I’m really amped to see what 2026 has in store for the best sports city in America today.

Order has been restored in the AFC West

The Denver Broncos are back where they belong.

After 10 long years of watching the Chiefs run the division, an entire decade of Patrick Mahomes and Co. stuffing the rest of the AFC West in a locker, the Broncos have finally taken back the throne.

While the job is not done, and the Broncos still have higher aspirations in a year where the league seems as open as ever, it’s important to take a moment every now and then to smell the roses. The Nathaniel Hackett debacle really wasn’t that long ago. Neither were the days of being downright desperate for a capable quarterback.

The standard will always be competing for championships in this great football city, so don’t get me wrong here, I’m foaming at the mouth for a shot at another Super Bowl. Seeing the rise of this team has been one of the more fun stretches that I’ve had in 30 years of rooting for the Broncos though. And I’ll be damned if I don’t enjoy this run.

The tone was set in 2025. We’ll see what kind of magic the Broncos have in them for 2026.

Come to the DNVR Bar

Come celebrate New Year’s Eve at the DNVR Bar! There’s no better place to watch both the Nuggets and the Avalanche.

There is only one Nikola Jokić on this spinning marble that we call home. I truly believe that he is the best basketball player that has ever lived.

The rise of RJ Harvey is no surprise to those that tune into our weekly Draft Podcast. Zac Stevens wrote a great piece on the man who has been key to his professional development. You’re not going to want to miss it.

Saturday’s shootout win over the Golden Knights might have been the most fun matchup we’ve had this season. It was definitely one of the most dramatic games we’ve seen so far.
