👋 Good Morning!

There’s no time quite like the final days leading up to the first game of the season. At this point in time, everything is still on the table, even the most wild of fantasies. That’s what makes it fun though.

Why shouldn’t I feel like the Broncos can make some noise this year? Why not believe in them to win the division? All of the pieces are in place and we saw them make massive strides last year.

I understand if the last decade has made you feel hesitant to buy in. But the Broncos are back. Enjoy the ride.

Ralphie VI calls it a career

(Imagn)

So long, farewell.

Ralphie VI has retired as the mascot for the University of Colorado due to an indifference to running. Honestly, I’m the ‘CSU guy’ but that’s the most relatable thing I’ve ever heard. Who among us hasn’t felt that exact same way at one point or another?

It’s obviously a bummer they won’t have a live mascot to run across the field for the foreseeable future. Even I can admit that that it’s one of the more unique traditions in college football and that it’s fun to see in person.

If we’re being real, though, it’s been pretty clear for a few years that the bison also known as Ember didn’t have much of an interest in the whole ordeal. Seeing her halfheartedly trot 20 yards was arguably a bigger bummer than not having the tradition at all.

Enjoy your leisurely strolls in the pasture, Ralphie. You live life on your own terms and even this CSU Ram can respect that. You do you, queen.

Kaidon Salter has been named the starting quarterback for CU against Georgia Tech on Friday night. The Liberty transfer was able to beat out highly touted freshman Julian Lewis for the gig.

Salter has thrown for just shy of 6,000 yards in his career. He has 56 touchdowns and 17 interceptions to this point.

The Broncos have greatly improved the depth of the roster in recent years. It’s why they felt comfortable moving Devaughn Vele and it’s why other teams are interested in some of Denver’s reserves.

Will the Avalanche have more contract drama this season or will they lock down Martin Necas with an extension?
