👋 Good Morning!

Jayden Daniels is reportedly unlikely to play for Washington on Sunday Night and NBC chose to keep the matchup with the Broncos in the primetime slot anyways.

There was a long stretch where I dreaded when Denver was in a standalone game. It just meant a bigger audience to mock my team. I’ll never underestimate a road game but it’s a lot more fun when you’re chomping at the bit to see your favorite team again.

I cannot wait for Sunday night.

Rox give the kid the keys

Somebody release the purple smoke. The Colorado Rockies have made a decision.

On Monday it was announced that Warren Schaeffer has been hired to be the team’s manager in a full-time capacity. Schaeffer, 40, was the interim manager following the dismissal of Bud Black last season. And now he’ll get the chance to show what he can do as the Rox attempt to rebuild.

Reactions seem to be fairly split on the decision. One Denver radio host called it the dumbest decision the team has ever made. I’ve seen others that are in the know make a case that Schaeffer really connects with the clubhouse and seems to be a coach with a bright future.

Ultimately the team is going to struggle regardless of who is managing next season. I’m fine with giving the up-and-comer a shot because of that, even if it’s a fairly underwhelming move. The next GM matters a whole lot more in the long run.

Check out what the guys had to say on the pod yesterday.

The Broncos recently signed kicker Will Lutz to a a three-year extension. He might not be the only guy to get a new deal before the end of the year though.

If you’re not a Diehard, Brendan Vogt’s weekly deep dives into the Nuggets is worth the cost of the membership.
