👋 Good Morning!

Did you catch the Rockies game last night? It had a little bit of everything.

After giving up 5 in the 7th inning, Hunter Goodman sparked some hope with a bomb to left field in the 8th. It was the 9th when things really got crazy though. The Rox rallied for 4 runs and ultimately won 8-6 in Cleveland.

If you’re going to be terrible, at least be entertaining. Last night the Rockies were entertaining.

Sutton’s new deal is a win-win situation for the Broncos

(Imagn)

The Broncos extended Courtland Sutton with a four-year deal worth $92 million on Monday. The veteran receiver will seemingly be Bo Nix’s No. 1 receiver for the foreseeable future.

As Zac Stevens pointed out, at $23 million annually, Sutton’s new deal ties him with Calvin Ridley as the 18th highest paid receiver in the NFL. For someone who has been as dependable as Sutton, that’s a pretty agreeable number for the Broncos, especially while the team has a quarterback on a rookie deal.

Sutton has produced year after year even despite the offensive instability and a revolving door under center. He’s done everything right since the team drafted him in the second round of the 2018 draft. And statistically speaking he’s put up the best numbers he’s ever produced under Sean Payton. It makes sense to keep him around as the team looks to establish itself as true contenders in the AFC over these next couple of seasons.

He probably could have gotten more if he pushed for it in free agency. Sutton sees the tide has finally turned in Denver though. He wants to be a part of this. The general energy with the franchise is starting to feel more like the Manning days and less like the debacle we witnessed for much of the last decade.

The future is bright in Broncos Country. I’m stoked Sutton is going to be a big part of it.
