👋 Good Morning!

Just another day of waking up and re-watching highlights from the previous night’s win. The last couple of months have been something else. Don’t take any of it for granted.

Credit the Seattle Kraken. They came to play on Tuesday night and really made the Avalanche work for a 5-3 victory over the struggling squad. In the end, though, the result was the same — another win in the column for the best team in hockey.

Colorado is now 24-2-7 on the season and leading the NHL with 55 points a full week ahead of Christmas. With everything that the Broncos have been doing, it’s been overshadowed on most airwaves. But if you’re not keeping up with this group, you’re truly missing out on one of the more dominant regular season runs in Colorado sports history.

To give you an idea of just how good the team has been, the Avs lead the NHL in goal differential at +60. The second-best team in the league is Dallas at just +24.

Nathan MacKinnon is the frontrunner for MVP, Cale Makar is likely to win the Norris again (best defenseman), and the guy who is technically the backup goalie has been so impressive that he has a shot to represent Canada in the Olympics.

As my friend and former colleague, Eric Lacroix, always says, the standard is the standard. It’s always Stanley Cup or bust for this great franchise. But after last year’s heartbreak in Game 7, it feels like this team has played the entire season with a chip on their shoulders. Having a healthy Gabe Landeskog has really been a motivator for the guys as well.

The Broncos will be without safety Brandon Jones for the foreseeable future. He was placed on IR after suffering a pectoral injury.

Might it be time to reconsider a reunion with Justin Simmons? He’s already in town.

Check out what the guys had to say about the situation.

It turns out that Nikola Jokić isn’t exactly a fan of our Jokmas tradition. That honestly makes it funnier though.
