👋 Good Morning! The Stanley Cup and NBA Finals are set to begin this week, which means we’re about to be subjected to the dumbest topic in sports media today, and that of course is TV ratings. I don’t know what dork was able to engrain ratings into the day-to-day debate, but unless you’re an executive working for these networks, TV ratings should be completely irrelevant in essentially all conversations about these matchups. Just enjoy sports and don’t be a weirdo. — Justin Michael

The Rockies FINALLY won a series

(Imagn)

The Colorado Rockies snapped a 22-series losing streak on Tuesday night with a 3-2 win over the Miami Marlins. It’s the first series win for the Rockies since taking two of three against Arizona in mid September.

If they were to pull off the sweep today, it would be the first in over a year. The Rockies haven’t won three straight against the same team since breaking out the brooms in back-to-back series against Texas and San Diego in May of 2024.

Normally I’d say something snarky here or make a joke about how asinine it is for something as minuscule as winning a series in an empty ballpark against the Marlins to be noteworthy. Honestly, from a human standpoint, I am happy for the players though. My gripes are with ownership and upper management, not Kyle Freeland or Ryan McMahon.

The season is already a lost cause. But I like watching baseball. I wouldn’t hate to see the Rockies go on a little flukey run or two this summer and maybe spoil a couple of nights for opposing fans. I don’t have much hope when it comes to my baseball fandom, but I’m always down to lean into pettiness when it comes to sad Dodgers fans.

Anyways, a win is a win. I might just have to break out the old Todd Helton jersey today.

Rep the Captain in style

The season didn’t end how we hoped but the comeback was one of the coolest stories in sports. Gear up with our latest Avs designs & rep the captain in style.

It’s a new generation of players for Deion Sanders up in Boulder. Catch up on all of the position battles from spring and see who our Buffs insider Scott Procter thinks is in line to start Week 1 this fall.

Could 2025 be a breakout season for second-year running back Audric Estime? Sean Payton thinks it could be but the former Notre Dame All-American needs more opportunities.

The NHL Draft will be a little weird for Avs fans given Colorado’s lack of picks. The ALL-CITY NHL Draft Guide is still an incredible way to learn about all of the top prospects in this 2025 class though. Check out all of the in-depth breakdowns from insider Charlie O’Connor.
