👋 Good Morning!
I’m out in Las Vegas for the Mountain West Media Days, which means we’re one step closer to football season. It almost feels like when your parents used take you back-to-school shopping. The summer isn’t over and that’s a good thing. But the excitement is definitely starting to set in for what’s to come.
PS the more I come to Vegas, the more I appreciate downtown. The strip has become absurdly overpriced and it’s nice to not have to walk a marathon to get anywhere you want to go.

The "what ifs" remind us just how hard it can be to be a sports fan

(Imagn)
In the spirit of rank week and the greatest “what ifs” in Colorado sports history, I’ve decided to come up with my own top 5 based on my own experiences as a fan.
Keep in mind that I’ve only been on this planet for 30 years, so I wasn’t alive to experience the heartbreak of the first four Broncos Super Bowls, the 80’s Nuggets or the USFL briefly coming to town. Also, this is is really just for fun, so don’t lose any sleep over my top 5.
What if the 2005 Broncos won the Super Bowl? Everything was set up perfectly and blowing the AFC Championship at home was surreal. (No. 5)
What if Marcus Houston scored in Boulder back in 2004? This was the game that truly taught me being a sports fan can be a tough existence. (No. 4)
What if the Avs didn’t blow a 3-1 series lead against the Wild in 2003? Would there have been another parade in Denver? (No. 3)
What if the Nuggets didn’t collapse against the Lakers in the 2009 Western Conference Finals? (No. 2)
What if Rahim Moore simply did his job in 2012? Need I say more? (No. 1)
