👋 Good Morning!

Can you believe the regular season is already over? Where did the time go?

I’ve written this before but Denver is a more vibrant place when the Broncos are in the playoffs. I love seeing folks in the grocery store rocking team gear, and when people say “Go Broncos” to each other in passing. I love seeing kids running around in Bo Nix and ‘PS2’ jerseys.

Football is pretty much a religion in this town. I’ve missed this feeling.

Two wins from the Super Bowl

(Imagn)

The Denver Broncos are officially the 1-seed in the AFC after wrapping up a 14-3 regular season. It’s just the second time in franchise history that the team has won 14 games. The last was obviously 1998 when the Broncos went on to beat the Falcons in Super Bowl XXXIII.

Critics will look to poke holes in this season. They’ll point to the close games and claim that it’s flukey. They’ll rant about a lack of style points over the last few weeks, and while I agree that it wasn’t the most exciting football, it also wasn’t very surprising.

Andy Reid and Jim Harbaugh are good coaches. They very rarely are going to get embarrassed by anybody, but especially a divisional rival that they know well. And frankly, there was little incentive for the Broncos to do anything other than play ball control and get through these games. If you’ve got a couple of tricks up your sleeve, why show your hand now?

The offense has its struggles, particularly in the run game. But Bo Nix is the first QB in NFL history to lead his team to 10+ wins and produce 30+ total touchdowns in his first two seasons. He’s also one of those guys who seems to elevate his games when the lights are bright.

Win two more home games and you’re Super Bowl bound. Style points don’t mean a thing. Just look at all of the championship-winning teams in Broncos history.

New Broncos Gear

This has been a season to remember. Commemorate it with some new Broncos gear for yourself.

There are lot of advantages to avoiding Wild Card weekend. The simplest is just not having to play another game. In the eight previous times that Denver has secured the 1-seed, the Broncos have made the Super Bowl in six of those seasons.

The result was a bummer but the reinforcements have arrived for the Nuggets. It’s great to see Christian Braun and Aaron Gordon back on the floor.

DNVR Nuggets Postgame

The Avs lost in regulation on Sunday afternoon for just the third time this season. Seeing Gabe Landeskog go down with an injury was the bigger bummer though.

DNVR Avalanche Postgame

The transfer portal window is officially open in college football. Keep up with the latest in Boulder.
