👋 Good Morning!

It might only be September but this weekend’s slate of football will have significant implications for the local college teams and the Broncos.

CSU and CU are both trying to get their mojo back and really need to have strong showings at home. The Broncos, on the other hand, have a chance to prove they are for real by winning an important divisional matchup against a team that swept Denver in 2024.

We’re in the thick of it. Game on.

When will the big free agent additions pay off for the Broncos?

When is Dre Greenlaw going to see the field? It’s a question that’s been asked for ages and pondered by some of the great scholars of the world. Yet the answers still elude us.

Alright I’m messing around, but seriously, the Broncos need Greenlaw to be a factor here pretty soon. We knew his injury history coming in, so this was likely always going to be part of the deal. But it hasn’t exactly been an encouraging start for the veteran linebacker. Sunday’s game against the Colts was theoretically the exact type of matchup the team could have used him in.

The Evan Engram signing hasn’t really lived up to the hype either. It’s a long season and there’s plenty of time to get him going. I’ve just been surprised to see him be a non-factor to this point.

Hoping for vintage Jimmy Graham production is unrealistic. But I do hope we see him unleashed sooner rather than later. It should be noted, though, that Engram also missed practice on Wednesday.

It’s too early to write either of these guys off. There’s always the possibility of a slow burn where they end up popping later in the season. The early returns have been pretty underwhelming though.

The Smartest Show in Broncos Country

Dave Logan and Bennie Fowler have teamed up for an awesome new show. You’re not going to want to miss what these former NFL receivers have to say each week.

CSU swept CU in three sets in women’s volleyball on Thursday night. The second matchup between the two schools takes place in Boulder tonight.

Micky Moniak homered for the fourth consecutive game in Thursday’s 9-7 loss to the Marlins. He’s up to a career-high 24 home runs for the season and has legitimately raked at Coors Field this year.

J.K. Dobbins rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown for the Chargers in their 23-16 win over the Broncos in Denver last October. It would be huge if he had a similar performance for the other side in Sunday’s game.
