Why not Denver?

The Denver Broncos are (7-2) and currently on a six-game winning streak for the first time since 2015.

Winning six in a row was a common occurrence in the Manning era. The Broncos did it every season that he was here. But despite being spoiled over the years by ‘the sheriff’ and obviously John Elway, it’s really not an easy thing to do in the modern NFL. Not with the current levels of parity.

The schedule over the second half of the schedule is quite challenging. Thanks to the great work that Denver has done over the first nine games, though, winning the division and maybe even pushing for the 1-seed are both realistic scenarios if the Broncos can finish strong. The nice thing is that even a .500 finish would put them at 11 wins, which would assumingely be enough for a playoff spot.

The Broncos might not always be the prettiest team — there are some things that could be smoothed out offensively — but good defense and toughness are things that tend to translate well in the postseason. This team is for real. If they can iron out a couple of kinks and improve on special teams, the Broncos are legitimate contenders.

Don’t forget to enjoy the ride. It’s been a decade since the Broncos were this good. Stop and take it in every now and then.
