👋 Good Morning!

With the Broncos opening the season at home on Sunday, I’d like to ramble for a moment on how much it stinks that the Park-and-Ride is no longer an option for fans going to the games.

Parking prices are outrageous around the stadium and anybody who has experienced the light rail postgame knows how much of a disaster the current setup is.

The new ownership group has done a lot of encouraging things when it comes to investing in the franchise. One thing they could do to help invest in the fanbase is bringing back the Park-and-Ride.

Will gambling on Dre Greenlaw pay off for the Broncos this season?

(Imagn)

Dre Greenlaw’s health status is going to be an interesting factor for the defense this season. After missing practice on Wednesday, the question at the moment is whether his quad injury will prevent him from making his Broncos debut this weekend.

When asked about the situation, Sean Payton said that he won’t be discussing the topic or providing updates on injuries anymore. He cited strategic reasons which is fair. Considering Greenlaw’s history, though, it could be a bit of a wait-and-see process week to week.

If the former 49ers linebacker can find a way to stay on the field this fall, he could be a really dynamic addition to the defense along with safety Talanoa Hufanga. His ceiling is the highest of any of the options Denver has at inside linebacker. Justin Strnad has been a serviceable option over the years though. And I actually really like Levelle Bailey — he’s a player I watched quite a bit of while he was at Fresno State.

I don’t think that Greenlaw will make or break the Broncos. But he might just elevate the unit to another level if it all works out. Greenlaw was a highly impactful player for a lot of years in San Francisco. I’m hoping we see him return to that peak form in the Orange & Blue.

The Broncos announced the team captains this week:

(QB) Bo Nix, (WR) Courtland Sutton, (OG) Quinn Meinerz, (S) Talanoa Hufanga, (CB) Pat Surtain II, (LB) Alex Singleton, (K) Will Lutz

CSU’s 6-foot-8 tight end made a great impression in his first career start last weekend. The converted quarterback nearly gave up the game a few years ago though.
